I heard something about source code, if it is available, someone knowing about maya plugins could compile it for the last version...
I'm waiting for the 2k9x32 version, anyone know if it is available somewhere?
Thanks.

Any suggestion?

Unluckily x64bit version doesn't work. I've Maya 2k9 x64 and I downloaded the x64 bit version of this plugin but Maya crashes when I attempt to export my model. I don't know if x32bit version works 'cause I've no Maya x32bit installed.Any suggestion?

Config file "dtsScene.cfg" not found.

I tried to triangulate my mesh and maya still crashes, in "dump.html" files, there's only this error:Config file "dtsScene.cfg" not found.
Thanks,

So for those of you, who, like me, are looking at this hoping that the x32bit version works, unfortunately no. Maya will crash instantaneously as soon as you try to export as a dts. Looks like it's back to the drawing board.

I've just used the x32 2009 plugin and it works. However, when I run it on a scene that's not properly set up it crashes to desktop. When you crash do you have the correct folder structure: base01 - start01 etc? Maybe it will help?

It seems to work fine otherwise, except for the crash to desktop with no warning on a file setup error.

It looks like the x32 plugin isn't handling bone scaling correctly. If I enable "scale" on the utility panel and export, all the vertexes of my object are squashed to a single point. The scaling works as expected in Maya 2008, using the x32 plugin for that version. It seems to work fine otherwise, except for the crash to desktop with no warning on a file setup error.

As a Torque newbie, I'm finally ready to attempt importing my own models, but I'm unable to find the Maya 2009 x64 DTS exporter.
I can find plenty of links to the exporters, but they are all dead.
Can someone please upload it somewhere? Perhaps at eb's link above?
Pretty please?

From what i know, an official DTS exporter for x64 doesn't exist yet.
I use Maya 2009 x64 too.
You can use Collada. It works like a dream.
I'll explain what i do to help you get started.
Download the dtsUtility.mel from here:
http://www.dannyngan.com/torque/maya2dts/
Follow the read me file and put the tool in your shelf in Maya.
NOTE* you don't need DTSutility, you can set the bounding box and correct hierarcy manual. I use the DtsUtility only to create fast the bounding box, detail shape...etc
Then download the colladaMaya plugin and install it:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=136478&package_id=303398
For help have a look here:
http://www.feelingsoftware.com/content/view/55/72/lang,en/
If it don't work maybe you need to install this:
http://www.feelingsoftware.com/component/option,com_docman/Itemid,80/lang,en/
ok Make sure both DTSutility and MayaCollada work in Maya and MayaCollada is loaded in the Windows>Plugins in Maya.
in Maya Create a box or Sphere, then run the DtsUtility. With the box selected click "create Bounding Box", then "Lock".
Select the box again and on the DTSutiliy press "Embed Shape" and then "Register Details".
Have a look on the outliner and observe how the hierarchy changing with base01, detail....etc
Ok your model is ready for export.(with a default material) You can explore the materials later...
Ok go to File, export all, select Collada Nextgen Exporter
and use the below settings:

Then in torque go in Library and select your collada model and import it.
That's all.
Torque generates a DTS out of your Collada...etc
:-)

I was actually avoiding Collada because it seems like there are a lot of teething issues with it and T3D — people have been having a lot of problems with it according to the forums. Plus it seems like it's just one more step between Maya and DTS/Torque ... but I'll give it a try later this week.
If it's the only way to go, I guess we have no choice!
Funny, tho — I had to laugh when you said "That's all."

When you set it up correctly it's the same thing. You export your model with collada and Torque refreshes the scene when you open it.
There are no extra steps..etc
It is worth a try...
