Tips for creating artwork?

Hello, as you all probably know, a company name and logo is probably one of the most important aspects of a company. Are there any good resources out there that can help you decide a company name and logo? I am also in the process of creating some GUI art, too. And the type of GUI art I am creating is kind of like a in-game logo.

Ok, heres a good template for making a company name:

(color)(animal)(company)

Examples:

White Eagle Games
Red Swine Entertainment
Blue Tiger Co.

So think of your favorite color, in my case, yellow.
Then think of your favorite animal, in my case, a Lemur.
Now just choose the ending, I will use Entertainment.

Yellow Lemur Entertainment.

Now here is how to make a logo:

Take what your animal is and find a good picture of it on google:

Now crop it so only it's head is there:

Now load it up on PhotoShop/illustrator and trace it with the color you chose. And then you just add your company name and a logo in a cool font.
