Hey gang. A couple others have had the issue of the red background way back when:

But there was never a solution!! I fixed it before and forgot how to do it since. I haven't messed with TXB in a while so I just got done reinstalling the whole kit and kaboodle do have another go. Am I doomed?

Hey Mario. I'm trying to help another customer with the very same issue, so hearing your earlier solution would be awesome, should you remember it. :)

Was it a driver issue? Prefs issue? Background color in the editor inadvertantly changed to red? Is your direct X up to date (www.microsoft.com/directx)

Would love to get this working for you guys!

I am having this same issue now. Originally my Torque X Builder was unable to maximize, so when I saw in the preferences had the resolution of the builder in there I tried to change it from 800 x 600 to 1280 x 800 and now not only did it not change the resolution, but it has the dreaded red background.

Well I guess I posted too soon because I found the solution a few minutes after.

From this post I gathered more info www.garagegames.com/community/forums/viewthread/47519

What I had to do is goto the preferences folder for Torque X Builder located here

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\GarageGames\TorqueGameBuilderX

and delete everything. The Torque X Builder will recreate the preferences on its next start and you're good to go!

This was under Windows Vista but I assume the same would go under whatever OS, just find the preferences folder.

Pfew ... I have a class in an hour and TXB on my laptop was suffering from this problem and I was pulling my hair out. Your post saved me! Thanks.
