Curves?

by Edward Smith · in General Discussion · 11/10/2002 (5:31 pm) · 7 replies

I was just wondering how Curved surfaces are performed?
How I see it been done is to do with 3 different points and it curves to them due to where the second point is(sorry, thats the best i could explain my idea(I'm bad with text lol)). Is that how its done?

Does anyone know of any documentation with curved surface? I was just wondering thats all.

Thanks!

Games have always been a huge part of my life. I've always enjoy military games such as SEAL Team and Delta Force. Large open areas, an objective and your choice to deal with it. Or the choices in Deus Ex, that is what games should be about.

mmm... just having a quick look, and how hard would it be to get in to Torque?

I'm a bit confused, which version of DX does Torque use?

Here's some better, non-DirectX info about curves.

Putting true curved surfaces (a la Quake 3, for example) into torque wouldn't exactly be a simple change, but someone with the proper time and skills could do it.

Mark, I don't know how much patches interest you, but we certainly can start up a project for it at the Torque Enhancement Project site. Perhaps others would join in to help, too.

Yea that would be a good project to start up there.

I know someone else who's evaluating doing patches in torque, so I'll leave it to him to work on for now. I've got other fish to fry!
