If you're a developer and are not receiving many sales on your current or past game(s), perhaps you will be interested in what we're offering: A high-volume of web traffic focused directly on your game, for a long period of time, at no cost to you. Interested? Awesome. Keep reading...

Here is some background info. In August 2006, we launched a website called Stootsi.com. Stootsi offers one product at a discounted rate for one day, or until it is sold out. The product is showcased front and center on the homepage, so all our traffic is driven right to that product. We sell anything from iPods to PC games to carry-in-your-pocket toilet deodorizers. To celebrate our two-year anniversary, we even sold a part of Stootsi history - rocks from our parking lot. Yes, actual rocks. Oh, and they sold too!

No matter what we sell, we make sure that it is a good deal for the consumer. If it is a good deal, the product will sell, because the entirety of our web traffic is focused on it.

We started to think about what else we could sell, aside from physical products. Surely, we thought, our heavy web traffic would be interested in digital products such music and games. After some planning and even more development time, we launched http://games.stootsi.com, and started selling games for independent developers.

Why did we start selling independent games? While independent games tend to bring in steady sales over a long period of time, eventually sales begin to taper off. Games become outdated and newer ones are being released each week at the same price. Unfortunately, affiliate sites generally keep their prices competitive and will rarely lower a game's price below the standard $19.99 or $14.99 price point. They also charge a ridiculous 30-40% royalty.

When the lifecycle of a game hits this unfortunate point, what do game developers do? In most cases, the game is sort of forgotten and left on affiliate sites to try and make a sale here and there. The developer's mentality is to start on a new project, build it out, release it, and generate fresh sales. This isn't necessarily a bad idea; it's just that the already-released game is still a viable product. It's simply not selling because it's not getting any attention (web traffic) and the price is too high.

Until the launch of http://games.stootsi.com, there hasn't been a channel for developers to sell their games at a discounted price to a high volume of web traffic.

This is how we work. You contact us at games@stootsi.com, and let us know that you're interested. We answer any questions you may have, discuss how much you would like to sell your game for, and let you know when it will be featured on the homepage. You submit a digital copy of your game to us, along with some information about the game (we'll provide you with access to our game submission form). The game is posted on the live homepage for at least two weeks. We process all credit card and PayPal payments for you. We take a 10% fee and levy any credit card or PayPal fee for processing the payment. So, our maximum cut is 13%. Everything else is yours. We issue payment to you by PayPal.

If you're interested, and would like more information, please contact us at games@stootsi.com, and be sure to check out http://games.stootsi.com! Thanks!
