Blender problems

I have a great character model of Sonic the Hedgehog(the official one from SADX) and I can't get it to work for too long.
I get this..
img.photobucket.com/albums/v338/Alonguy/torque/screen2.jpgor this...
img.photobucket.com/albums/v338/Alonguy/torque/screen1-1.jpg...even when the verticies are assigned correctly!
Sometimes it works perfectly, and sometimes it does the above when I modify it.
And I'm doing harmless modifications like adding animations...

Problem two is the fact that I can never get death animations to work. The engine closes
when I test it.
I've got a bounds box named bounds, a collision box named col0, 11 death animations, and the 2 ski
bones. (ski0, ski1) For some reason, the bounds box I put does not appear, and it instead uses the default box.

Problem three is mor of a question.
For a few frames of an animation, I want Sonic to turn into a sphere.(like in SADX) How do I accomplish this in blender?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

It looks like some vertices are not assigned to bones, which is why they go way off into the distance. (Based on the picture you uploaded)

It's definitely not the verticies. I checked.
What's a "ground frame"?
