...a modelling program that exports into DTS? Preferably free please.

and might have a way to export to something like milkshape or blender, which can then export to DTS.

I guess there is no demo version of Houdini? Couldn't find a link for one.

Houdini Apprentice Learning Edition is the free trial version, but no DTS exporter until you stump up for Houdini Apprentice HD.

Truespace has a DTS exporter you can download, not sure how well it works with the new 7.6 (it has 2 sides to it model and the new viewer side) you have to export from the modelling side and its a bit involved.

I didn't get it to work, but I think I may have had an older version of the exporter. I got an incorrect version error when trying to get it into TS 7.6. But another community member got it up and running.

there is always blender. Then milkshape which is not expensive at all. But i would recommend houdini....99 bucks, but you get a real good app for it and it has the best DTS exporter.
