I've been running Vista and TGE together for over a year now and no problems. Just make sure you have the latest Vista video drivers and it should be ok.

Been using Vista for a while now and personally I wouldn't pay to upgrade from XP (it's not really enough of an upgrade to justify the expense), but I wouldn't bother buying XP for a new build. Mileage varies from person to person, but I've had no problems at all with Vista aside from adjusting to some trivial differences in use.
Everything in my Torque toolset works, with provision of a few compatibility settings here and there (Constructor springs to mind).

First thing to do is check any older hardware you might still be using has Vista compatible drivers.Been using Vista for a while now and personally I wouldn't pay to upgrade from XP (it's not really enough of an upgrade to justify the expense), but I wouldn't bother buying XP for a new build. I use vista now, due to a similar issue with my old computer, and tge is working well for me. I've had constructor crash on me quite a bit though...

had one instance of world editor inspector suddenly start showing really squished arabic script for filenames and settings - i just saved, then got out and back in and it was fine after that - highly strange behavior
at least it runs lol

Both tge and constructor work enough to make a project on the vista home premium that came with the toshiba laptop, but if you get it confused it will crash and do the 'winblows is trying to determine the source of the problem" thing forever - just kill it and run it again - save often, and with not just one filename in case vista eats the file - if it does eat the file, search for the filename in recent programs and see if it saved a copy there, sometimes you get luckyhad one instance of world editor inspector suddenly start showing really squished arabic script for filenames and settings - i just saved, then got out and back in and it was fine after that - highly strange behavior

However, a tester of mine had said that the game sample I made would run on Vista, which was the whole point to find out.
On the other hand as far as Operating systems go, I will be staying with XP until Vista becomes something less of a migraine headache, or I will just move over to Apple computers.
