Console (?)

Dear all,
I'm a new here and I'm learning the use of Torque. I read the book continuosly, but I don't know, how to write larger scripts into the console.
In the book there are 50-60 line long sourcecodes, but it is hard to write these codes into a sinle-line console (pressing the ~ button).
Any idea, where should I write these codes, or how could I try the examples?
