Terms & Conditions

Hi all,

I cant seem to find a definate answer anywhere online so maybe someone with a little legal knowledge could tell me if i'm right. If I had a company or product and found a company that offered a similar product and copied their Terms & Conditions and just changed the information to reflect my company/product; would the company be able to bring some sort of legal action against me if it could be proven that it is a direct copy? I would think the answer is yes, but I'm not sure.

Note: I'm not looking to copy someone's Terms & Conditions. I just came across a company that copied another company's Terms and Conditions.

Most likely, yes since such things outline the usage specific to their products. Unless they either used a common legal template or had the same legal team prepare it.

Thanks for the reply David,

It is obvious that one of the companies copied the other's Terms and Conditions (or at least it was the same legal team that prepared it by copying the original) because on the copy, it mentions the original company. If that makes any sense. As far as I know from searching on the internet, these 2 companies are competing for the same market and both are very large(worth billions) and well known.
