AISeek and Torque?

by William Lee Sims · in Torque Game Engine · 08/01/2008 (6:20 pm) · 23 replies

I just read the Game Developer magazine and it mentions that AISeek is out-of-the-box compatible with Torque Game Engine.

I looked on their site and saw that they mention the same thing. Has anybody tried it or their free evaluation? Does anybody know how much it costs?

This is an amazing find, Nathan! I looked at SpirOps before, but dismissed it fairly quickly due to not finding the price. They have a very nice GUI for editing behaviors. Also, they generate C++ code from the editor that is called on an as-needed basis, a method that will make integrating easy in any of the Garage Game engines.

Thanks a bundle for finding this!

Yeah, it looks really awesome, and I'd love to work with it. I've got another email, and it contains bad news this time:
Quote:
the price for commercial project is per title:

35k + 15k per additional platform

I knew that a price like that was likely, but I was getting my hopes up. Being free for non-commercial use is great (and they did say that thing about the free version for GarageGames), and you are allowed to use the free version until you're ready to publish, but I'm not sure I'm willing to fork over that much at anytime. I will ask to see if there is an indie price.

Still no news from the others (AI.Implant, Kynapse), but I plan on resending my email soon.

Edit->Sent email asking if there is an indie discount.
Edit2->That would be in Euros -- The forum eats the symbol

Some great investigation there Nathan and I was getting quite excited by the previous few posts there but this last one has spoilt that somewhat... can only hope that they would be interested in making an indie license available but we'll have to wait and see.
