Scene object question

Hi,
I am working on a platform game and the view is 2d but does have a slight 3d view. Now is it possible to place a scene object (to stop the player falling though) at a slight angle so that it covers the platform. As if i just do a normal square like the platform tutorial it would not cover the edges of the platform and the player would just fall through.
I hope I am describing this ok (i dont think I am lol)

I would recommend testing it like Kevin said. It seems this should work just fine though.
