A couple of questions from a noob

I've got a couple of questions.

1. Does the forum have a search button?

2. Any recomendations for learning torque script?(websites, books, ect.)

3. Do you think the model packs and other stuff you can buy are worth it?

1: Top right, next to the logout link. It searches forums, resources, TDN, everything.

2: torque for teens, game programmers guide to torque, 3d game programming all in one, advanced 3d game programming all in one. All those deal with script, plus there's a new one that deals with the engine code.

3: If it has what you need, sure. If the pack has the models your game needs, it can save you lots of modeling time. Of course they can be a waste of money if you buy a pack that doesn't fit with the theme of your game (like a medieval knights adventure has little need for rally cars, jet bikes, and tanks).

To answer more on item 3 - I've purchased a number of the packs on here and other sites, for the most part they are great for quickly prototyping or for people without 3d modellers whilst others are poorly supported, full of bugs and can cause as much headaches as they save time in modelling (modmaker weapons being an example for me of this second type).

If you're unsure it's best to ask on a specific pack or look at the feedback on the pack left by people on the site
