Where to start?

Hi,

I'm looking to start working with the torque engine as a programmer and would like to know where to start. I have close to no experience in programming but i'm ready to put in a lot of time (few hours a day) and effort.
My goal is to be able to make 3d games with 2 of my friend ( another programmer and a 3d artist, all starting from scratch).

We we're thinking about starting with the Torque game builder by making a nice little addictive 2d game and then move on to TGE when we'll have enough experience and eventually try the TGEA.

So i'd like some advice on where to start. Would buying the TGB along with the book ''Games programmers;Guide to Torque'' be the best option?

Thanks!

My recommendation: Get "Game programmers guide to torque" and play with the TGE demo.

Now, once you have gotten familiar with scripting and the general layout of how torque works, go straight to TGEA.

I jumped right into TGE, worked withe some resources, got a 3d modeling pipeline going but could never really get anywhere.

So I jumped over to TGB and have been honing my scripting skills and it's making things fall into place quite a bit faster.

A good book helps a lot, but hte TDN is a big help as well.
