Sandcastle

I just had an idea last night before I slept, and I think it would work perfectly with the Torque engine.
It's an MMO, since it only has one main server, and it would have a cheap little inventory system. There are 3 units: Sand, Water, and Mud. 5 sand and 5 water make 1 mud, mud can be used to either build a wall, door, or sand dollar. A sand dollar lets you buy things via a menu, such as NPC guards that attack anyone but you going near their point, or NPC "Sandmen" that are weak in health but will kill anyone you choose in the main server.
The goal is to build the largest, most successful sandcastle (or really, anything, but mostly a castle), and dominate the sandbox playfield.

The main game would be like those many Tycoon games, buy a bakery, outfit it, get employees, make goods to sell for profit. But then comes the multiplayer part, you can direct some or all of your baking production to creating Gingerbread men of various types, which you use to attack other competing bakeries.
Last bakery standing wins, beat em by taking all their customers, or destroying their entire bakery.

Hah, the Sandmen part gave me a little idea for a similar game, Muffin Men.The main game would be like those many Tycoon games, buy a bakery, outfit it, get employees, make goods to sell for profit. Jason, yes, you could possibly say it is. It's also a pinch of RTS and a dash of RPG.

What about...
-Natural Disasters
What if you had natural disasters that wiped out your construction. Say, an alarm going off and everyone scrambling for their lives because a tidal wave is about to make an impact.
-Predatorial creatures
What if you had a group of crabs suddenly attack the castle and eat everyone. Or pelicans looking for a tasty snack, swooping in to grab any exposed builders.
-Humans
What if the construction of your sandcastle could gain more materials by a human dropping an item along side (i.e. a plastic cup), which could be used to speed up construction time.

make a whole world, have your "hero" be a sand creature, (king i guess, you are making castles) you start with your "hero" and a little building, have your goal to make your kingdom larger than your opponents, make alliances, (you could be needing more water, or sand, [ i think rocks would be a good material too, you know defensive wise]) and when you dont need your ally anymore you can declare war on them again, this would give your mmo more purpose and longer gameplay.
also rocks could be crafted into weapons, shields and armor, giving your sand men an advantage against other players.
this wouldnt really be a sandbox game, but it would last longer, and probably catch more attention then a small sandbox game.
you could also make "Sandbox" Demo of "The Kingdoms of Sands" or something like that.
Spook@Hellrazorstudios.com If you would like to hear more ideas, on anygame, or more for this one. They just keep coming, dont want to make your game for you. ^.^ good day
P.S. I would buy this game just for all the stradegy it would take to kick some but!

Why not take it to another level.make a whole world, have your "hero" be a sand creature, (king i guess, you are making castles) you start with your "hero" and a little building, have your goal to make your kingdom larger than your opponents, make alliances, (you could be needing more water, or sand, [ i think rocks would be a good material too, you know defensive wise]) and when you dont need your ally anymore you can declare war on them again, this would give your mmo more purpose and longer gameplay.
