area/map transitions

All,

does anyone have any info/clue/tips/tricks egarding the smooth area/zone/map transistions that are seen in DS (Dungeon Siege)? they make the traditional "Loading..." screens look pathetic.

I think this would be a nice feature to add as a resource for those building a RTS/RPG style game with TGE.

I too would love to hear about this. I think Mark F. gave a brief explanation as to what would need to be done to implement a basic terrain manager. I know the existing terrain manager (can't remember who wrote it) can happily render 9 tiles, at least it appeared to do so. I did find some problems with the manager though.
