Hi,

I do not know if i am the first person with the idea but i plan to make a 3D First PErson Shooter set in 1920's prohibition era chicago type city. It is the story of a hitman who is out for revenge on his earlier boss after he was shot and left for dead..additional motivation his wife/girlfriend was killed... i would love to fill this game with gangster cliches...like the tommy gun, trench coat etc etc..and "you talkin' to me" type of dialog.

best of all i wish to make this in complete black and white...or sepia tones.... :) soundtrack would be jazz/blues and get this..western classical..heavy tempo strings and bass for actions sequences....

check out the project called "Magnum Opus" ...i am getting the website ready at http://ferosphere.netfirms.com/ferosphere/magnumopus/index.html

It is my first game project.... i am in dire need of help/support/guidance.... right now... there are two persons working on this... i am working on the programming/story/artwork side and a friend of mine is working on teh sound effects..... desperately need 3-D
artist and othe programmers... :)

Saurav, how is your project? The concept of your game is great. I hope you don't give up on it.

Let me do a suggestion about the colors. You plan to do it all in B&W, but I think it would be the finest if you do it in very soft colors, almost B&W, like old movies colorized by computer. I saw Casablanca and some other classic movies in 'artificial' color, and they had a beautiful and very innovative effect, like watercolors. I'm affraid a pure greyscaled scenery will look boring to the player too soon.

What do you think?
