Awesome, Eric! I've added your game to the Powered by Torque page.

Keep us informed of progress on your future TGB games!

Eric, how did you get your game page on gamespot? Is that something indies can submit to?

It got there because of our press release. We used
www.gamerelease.net,
which worked really good and I can only recommend it. You have to write the release yourself (although there is a template) but releasing it is just one click.

I bought this game earlier tonight (Of course I buy pretty much anything made by indies using any of the torque engines).. this is one excellent game if you love turn based strategy games like I do.

Eric and team really fleshed out the gameplay.. for $19.90 you get a 25 lvl campaign, which has a very interesting (and funny) story line, a single player skirmish mode with lots of variable options, multi-player online play, AND a level editor to make your own maps to use and share!

Well done!

Moley!!
I have to give more kudos out about this game.

The unit balance is FANTASTIC! I was amazed after playing the jammer island 6 times at how different the outcome would be.. sometimes I would be mauled, other times I would only loose towards the end.. but when I finally optimized units using terrain and their intended rolls I beat nearly all the enemy units (I won't spoil anything, but when I say all.. I mean ALL but 2.. if you have played this level you will know what a feat that is) .

I also like the way you are slowly taught the units and hints for their tactics while you play the campaign. This allows you to learn how to optimize your existing units performance without being overwhelmed by new unit types in mass.

For your next project you could do a more historic turn based game.. American Civil War.. Napoleonic Wars.. American War of Independence... WW1.. similar cartoony style. :D

Looks interesting - any chance of a Mac build?

Hehe... thanks Tank Dork. Got to love Moley :)
We are most likely not going to do another TBS game but thanks for the Ideas.

@ Ronny : Some of our Engine modifications must have broken some Mac stuff :(
So currently we can not say whether there will be a Mac version or not.

Any chance of some TBS resorces, tutorials, or starter kit being released :D

@ Eric,

Game looks and performs great here. Congratulations

Why not another TGB game? Problems with the engine?

@ Tank : As this was our first project I have to say that there are many things I would not do the same way again now that I have more general programming knowledge, so Id think it would not be useful to work with most of the code I created. But we could release a prototyping tile set with our art for example, if that is something you could need?

@ Isaac : Thanks. I only said we wouldnt do another turn based strategy game not necessarly moving away from TGB. :) But you were right though, our next project is not going to be in TGB :) But not because its causing problems or anything. I really love TGB and love to see all things that are done with it :)

An after action report of your journey, pitfalls, and tips would be the most usefull thing.

It would be nice to have some modding capabilities later on once you feel the need to lengthen the shelf life some. I haven't dug into your art files yet to see how hard it would be, but if you have them protected you could allow us access to them later so we could use your tbs engine to make local mods with different era sprites. Or maybe even your stat editor too, to save file hacking. :P

The game seems stable enough and I have yet to run into any performance issues, and I don't have a Mac.. so as far as I am concerned you did things the right way. :D
