Thinktanks- Errors playing in with 8.04

Hello
I play thinktanks a lot, and i recently installed linux on my server computer
But i have a problem. I can not seem to play on it. The game loads, but i can not join a server. Right when the game finishes loading the objects when i try to join a server, it quits, for no reason.
And this rolled into another problem, i can not host eather, which is why i put linux on that computer, to host on.
Any suggestions will be a help
