10s of hours of development? Sounds like if you spent more time on it you would've had it done in the first two years instead of 18 years...Did you mean 18 months...?

If I had only spent more than 10 hours during that 18 year span on my fictional game, I could have completed it faster in the fictional world. Why didn't I THINK of that!

Absurdity is my favorite form of humor and I chuckled at the child porn component, but it's definitely one of those subjects that many/most have perminantly flagged as "not funny". Venture down that avenue with great caution and don't go for the double-whammy of child porn + holocaust humor. And by NO means, go for a hybrid joke on the two subjects. I think only Bill Hicks could pull that off, but alas he's dead.

While I agree this post made me laugh, I would like to point out, how absurd it is to bash someones game design plan with no intention of helping them. I can see pointing out how hard the path they chose is, but why, do people constantly bash people who want to make a Massive Multiplayer Environment in there game. We should encourage people to take the high road and most of all encourage them to complete what they start. As far as I see, even when people select to create a rather easy game, there projects fail just as much as the MMO

There is plenty room for growth in all the PC game sectors including MMO's. It's all win win.

5/07/2008 PROGRESS UPDATE!

In my last post we already had 1000 different quests in WoEC Online.
I will tantalize you with some of them listed below...
1. Collect 10 ant corpses
2. Collect 10 air-elemental corpses
...
1000. Collect 10 zebra corpses
Note: all enemies have the starter-fps orc model, but the name is different if you look closely
But NOW we have 100,000 different quests!!! Now that previous, puny list looks like THIS...
1. Collect 10 ant corpses
2. Collect 11 ant corpses
3. Collect 12 ant corpses
...
100,000. Collect 20 zebra corpses
Note: all corpses have the same icon, make sure you give the right one to the quest giver or the game crashes.
We recognize that most players find our game too boring to play themselves and instead purchase gold from gold farmers or use bots. Well now you won't have to worry about getting banned because WE HAVE gold farming bot AI implemented into the game itself! In addition to the auto-attack, and auto-walk buttons, you now have a auto-play button ... now you can concentrate on what you really want to do, chat about pointless things with people you don't really know and all-the-while watching your character auto-hack himself to level 100.
Note1: This game also makes a great screen-saver.
Note2: We don't know how to program, so we haven't actually made the bot ai. Wherever you mmo hackers are, come make us some - we won't ban you!
