Hello, and thank you for taking the time to look at my thread.
my name is Diego Alegre, and I am the creator of "Dreams: Essences of Life" an upcoming 2d RPG for the PC.
Dreams has been in development for quite a while, and a lot of planning , money and time has been spent on it. I set myself to create something that blends traditional RPG with more modern elements, such as avoiding the traditional "tiled" method older RPGs had, and replacing it with lush, vivid digitally painted maps, which you may see below.

CHARACTER SKETHCES:

THE SYSTEMS
the game also has complex elements, such as a unique "Passive Character Customization System" where all your actions as a player affect the growth of your characters, no player will make the same choices while playing the game, so no player will create an exact replica of another player's character. it has become possible that 2 players in the same level may have completely different characters, with no same skills, equipment and status.
STORY
The game's story is a great element and has been throughly developed. each town in the game has its own history, from the date when people first settled into an area, to the businesses, surrounding areas, political details, etc. this is all reflected through books, which may be read while playing the game.
The game has been planned to feel like a completely unique experience, and I'm sure people will enjoy playing through it.
A Fully Illustrated Bestiary is also available to read through in-game, again I've made sure that everything feels realistic in its world, so the bestiary is Sketched in pencil and then applied to a book graphic, giving it a very authentic look.
Here's a Sample of how the sketches look like: http://bb.xieke.com/files/Bird%20sample.jpg
THE JOB
2d Background Artist
Dreams is in need of a background artist who can work on painting around 200-250 Maps (Backgrounds) ranging from Towns, Forests roads, dungeons, etc.
The style of the game can be seen in the screenshots:

The Maps range in sizes from 640x480 to a maximum of roughly 2000x2000.
You will be provided with sketches of each map, as well as materials that will guide you through creating the maps in order for them to work in the game.
Most Maps will have 2 Layers, a Background and a Foreground Layer:
Background Layer: the whole Image itself.
Foreground Layer: Any object that can cover the character's sprite when walked behind of is considered part of the Foreground Layer.
All these things are fairly simple to comprehend and I will provide all the materials necessary to get you started as easily as possible.
I also require the artist to maintain contact with me. I will not work with someone who disappears for 3 weeks without informing me why. a good communication is crucial.
PAYMENT:
Payment is $100 Per month until all the maps are completed.
there are around 7-8 Months to complete the maps of the game.
an extra amount of money can be arranged to be paid once the game is released as a sort of bonus, and also so the project is not too low paying. the game has a low budget, but I try my best to compensate all my artists as much as I can.
