Buying' your game...

So I have heard a few people saying some stuff about 'buying' a game. That means that you get all your art and scripts from content packs and resources and then basically selling it as a game. I have seen many more people saying things like that, and I was wondering if this means game designers that actually MAKE their games might just get pushed behind the production line. Any thoughts?

Lol go buy all the content packs, then tell me how easy it was to make your game. No, that doesn't really happen, per se. Even with a full engine + content packs, you really haven't got too much unless you're going for gameinaday level of complexity.

You know, I stumbled upon this post again, and now that I think about it, it is probably a GOOD idea no matter what to aim for only "game in a day" complexity. As it will never stay that way unless you are literally in a Game in a Day competition. But that is probably a very good way to spec your game out, by aiming for that simple a level.
