I may be putting this up as a content pack when it's done...

Ok, I've been working of the mesh for over a week now, so here is the first part on a sideways view:

Sideways

Here is another regular one:

Normal

Here is a detailed look in his face:

Close-up

I am about to get some texture on him...

EDIT: Fixed links

EDIT: I forgot to show you the seperate files with the wings, so here it is:

Wings

EDIT: If you want to get a free dragon, then go to the 9th post and see what you can do.

Looks good but where are the wings? You can't have a dragon without wings! I'd like to see this textured though. Good job.

Great design and concept.. Poly-count look kinda high to be rendered in an engine, maybe try and optimize
some? Keep it up!

@Andrew not all Dragons need wings. There are some in a far far away land that do not have wings, and are more serpent like. :)

Great job Tyler. Looks better then anything I could do. I paticularly like the spikes on the side of her face. :)

Yeah I know it just didn't directly appear as a dragon because it doesn't have wings :) And it is also beyond my skill level.

You don't have to have wings. You only need wings if it is a wing-a-ling dragon.

Good luck with your model. Making 3D art is a huge undertaking, and it looks like you got a good start!

Ok, I forgot to post this:

I do not have any wings because the wings are going to be a seperate file that will mount onto the dragon. I will post the wings now.

Ok, I stink at texturing... RIght now it looks like a red checkerboard. I need to find someone who can help...

I just fixed the texture a little and I finally made scales (yay), but I am having trouble making the stomach and the underneck.

The good news is that it is low poly for the 1st LoD, only 500 poly count
2nd LoD is 2000
3rd will be high poly at about 10,000

But since it will be a playable character, it won't be so bad.

Ok, can anyone help me with skinning it? I will give a free copy of the dragon to whoever does (just include my name in the credits).

Here is some pics that might help you out:

Side with seams

This is the hardest since dragons don't normally have scales on the bottom of their stomach
Bottom with seams

Another hard one since the legs in between need the same as stomach:
In between legs with seams

Last hard one since they don't have scales on the bottom of their tails.
Tail with seams

Back with seams

Here is the outline:

Now I have a texture for scales, so you can use it freely if you want, I can change the color when it's done:

You can get all the files here:

Ok, I officially stink at making skins, I now have a stretched out dragon looking like a checker board... Good thing that animating comes naturally to me :)

Ok, I'm about to place a picture of my dragon with a texture on it...

But it still looks horrible.

Ok, here is the textured dragon, but it doesn't look very good, anyone know where I can find some UV mapping tutorials?

I have just made a few textures for a bundle of colors, I am trying to make the stomach and neck different colors, because dragons don't usually have scales on their underbellies...

If anyone can help me (since I really stink at texturing), you can find the files here.
