Gears of Torque" TGEA demo

I found a video about a Gears-of-War-Level made with TGEA.

Watch the Video

- shows the video the current state of TGEA 1.7.x ?
- what kind of shadows are used (stat. shadowmaps, PSSM...) ?
- are there other detailed informations about used techniques in this demo-level?
- ...

I'm very interested!!!

I hate to burst bubbles here, but there's nothing really "impossible" that's done in this demo that a talented team could not reproduce themselves. It wasn't new or unique when GoW came out, it was just really well refined and presented to the player to provide the experiance that the dev team was aiming to achieve.

With that said, sure it would be nice to have this code available, but you know what, its not that missing key ingredient that's holding back your game from being released. Good games are good because of the entertainment value that they give off, which comes from your own talent and abilities to use the resources that you have.

With the exception of a few impressive graphics filters, the majority of scenes that have impressed me over the past few years can be linked directly to really good textures, followed by those textures being properly lighted. GoW (and GoT) did just that.
