3D Modeler/Animator for salary position

Onverse, LLC is the next leading developer of virtual worlds and online games. Formed in 2007, Onverse has been hard at work acquiring talent and building our first product. We are using a heavily modified version of the Torque Game Engine. Our first product is slated for beta in Q4 of '08.

We are now hiring an experienced 3D modeler, animator and artist. We are looking for someone who is fanatical about bringing our first product to life, while understanding the dynamic nature of a start-up company. The start-up potential here is huge, entering at the top of our art department with company stock incentives, depending on salary.

We need someone who can step in as the main point of organization and direction for our art department, while providing efficient implementation. You will also be a mentor for lower level artists. A strong work ethic, belief in the product and company, good communication and high motivation are highly valued.

Applicants must be willing to work full-time, on-site at our office in Tempe, Arizona.

Specific software and duties

- 3DS MAX 9.0
- Photoshop CS3
- Experience with world editors (BSP construction) a plus.
- Managing and scheduling our art department.
- Modeling and animating our characters, clothing and props.
- Designing and building basic interior environments.
- Possible help with web, GUI, marketing art.

Qualities

- An exceptional understanding of human anatomy and a keen eye toward form, shape, structure, and silhouette in regard to modeling.
- Superior eye for light shade, color and detail in creating texture maps.
- Self motivation, good communication skills and a great team player
- A passion for games and virtual worlds.

Other

- Possible help with web, GUI and marketing art.
- Concept art may be needed.
