I got the top of the range Inspiron 8200 with all the trimings (I even got the coloured palm rests) but I wasn't buying it, my work was.

With that said, I am extremely impressed by the laptop. Not only in terms of performance but by the screen. We got the 15" Dell Ultrasharp UXGA display which is absolutely *superb* even for an image-processing nit-picker like me! You get a 140deg viewing angle plus a uniform light distribution second to none!

The new ones like mine have *much* quieter dual-fans than the previous generation ones which were a pain in the backside as they seemed to continually run as well as being generally noisy.

The geForce4-M is very fast although it has been tamed with the exclusion of shader support which is a damn shame but that doesn't matter, it still runs Torque without problems.

The only real problem I would say is that the laptop is quite heavy and I wouldn't like to cart it around regularly, although I am bringing it to the IGC. If you can afford it then buy the docking station at around
