Quickchats / Voice-message binds

This isn't incredibly important right now, but I thought about it and was curious. As a lot of games have these days, you can use in-game waves as taunts or commands or gestures of various kinds.
I know that windows, numbers and letters are frowned upon for Realm Wars, since it takes away from the general idea of it being "medieval," so how will players choose them, if it's even an option?
Also, how will they be organized? Will you only be able to use voice bindings for your sex and race/class, or can you just select presets from a list of bindings to be used with the press of a button?

It's annoying on other games now though, because sometimes one sound will better express the situation than another. For instance, I can give the global message for "Die!" using an Orc: I shout out "Die scum!" Now I use an Elvin male: I shout out "Perish, scoundrel!" Let's say I like using an Elf but I don't like sounding retarded. But, I can't use the message I want because the game is pushing a theme.
It'd be nice to have a selection of taunts to use instead of being stuck with one. Say, instead of picking a taunt pack (like in T2 you have Rogue, Iceman, etc. - personality types), you can pick individual taunts for your sex and class. (We could make about five different hellos for an Elf male, and you can pick which one to use, as they'll all say something different or the tone or pitch will change.) To make things even, the messages should all say the same thing from race to race, but you could also have speciality taunts that don't fit under general things like "Bye," "Hello," "Uh oh," etc. (Things like "I will mount your head upon my living room table!" or something.)
But anyway. I like variety of that kind.

In an old game made by Dynamix called Starsiege, quickchats weren't really thought about too much from the looks of it. Because of this, it's possible to create a script that allows you to use thousands of quickchats (which I do). It's annoying on other games now though, because sometimes one sound will better express the situation than another. I think there should be certain ones for race e.t.c, if they are recorded, it would add flavour, and it would look odd for an Orc to shout "Kill them" in a girly voice, and the Elf Sorceress to shout "DIE!" in a deep booming Orc like voice.... Or is it just me that sees a problem with this ;)
