VIZ2008.max >> max2dts >> torque 1.4.2 dts

I am and educator dusting off Torque Game Engine 1.4.2 after a year hiatus.
We use Autodesk VIZ 2008 for model creation (and also have the corresponding MAX release).
It seems that the max2dts plug-in I relied upon no longer "plays well" with our VIZ/MAX version. Could someone direct me to a more recent variant that will work?
Will the resulting *.dts file work in my version of the engine?

We could probably get by with 3ds to dts. We also have AutoCad2008 and I seem to remember a OBJ format that might be another alternative.
Any alternate pathways? Please forgive me if I'm overlooking something obvious elsewhere; I am very new to the forums and support resources.

Naturally, 15 seconds after I posted this request I went to the "new Art" ( http://www.garagegames.com/developer/torque/artist/ ) and saw a pair of exporters halfway down the page that looked right. Will they work with Torque Game Engine 1.4.2 ? I'm being careful because our internet access out at the college was a victim of the widespread storm damage that struck all over the american midwest last night.
