Basically we are trying to develop a ski game but are having issues trying to implement a friction setting that allows sliding down slopes....

But from that thinking of looking for somewhere to start I had another look at the game demo's on torque's game page. The mechanics behind the marble blast gold demo actually seemed a lot more relevant. By that I mean you slide down the slope wether you are pressing something or not, but you can also accelerate/decelerate to a degree which is what we are trying to get really.
Does anybody have any knowledge of how that game was setup. Is the "ball" a physics object, player class, vehicle class or something completely different.
What we are aiming for is to have our character basically skiing on either atlas or legacy terrain whereby he/she can slide down the slope in his/her neutral state I suppose (when you arent pressing anything).

Had a go of the blockland demo just now. The only thing that seemed close to what you where talking about was "the slopes" level.. which seemed to use jet boots and didnt allow you slide down a slope like you where on ski's. Maybe I missed something though. But from that thinking of looking for somewhere to start I had another look at the game demo's on torque's game page.
