Im hoping you watching these threads Jaimi,...Ive got this .MAP to .3DS converter wrote by someone here in the community, and i want to script it into constructor(similar to the way that the MAPtoDIF converters work, but i am unsure of the settings for the script. Help would be awesome:)

Yeah it works great, and i noticed the code for the way constructor accesses the individual map2dif EXE's during an export and though i might be able to do the same thing with the MAPto3DS... so i could save a step or two before making an UV map in MAX;)

As I'm slowy learning Constructor, but know 3DMax well even if it's an old version. I'm hoping to get up to speed with constructor and cut down the use of 3DMax for buildings and the such and just it for character and vehicle designing.

Bobby did you manage to get the .3ds exporter working or heard anything more on it?As I'm slowy learning Constructor, but know 3DMax well even if it's an old version. Right now I make my building in constructor use the 3ds to map tool and then i make UV map in MAX, then use the Max to Constructor tool to save as a .CSX. So they come out looking like poly-soup building because of the way they are painted, but that is for just general geometry, for more complex stuff i use the poly-soup features of TGEA:) But for integrating the mapto3DS should be hard i just have no time, hoping some one would look into it. The exported for Mapto DIF are just exe's activated by Torque script or that is the way it seems, so i was thinking the Mapto3Ds would work the same..let me know what you come up with;)
