DSQ and DTS changing the player

Hello, I am trying to change the player to a tank for my game, I have a few questions and any help would be appreciated :).
1: First off, I am attempting to use blender and I succeeded in getting a cycled animation into Torque but I am having trouble using the tutorial that came with the .dts exporter to get the player animations. All i want to do is export a dsq for root, move, and looking around; so basically does anyone have a good explanation of this or know of a good tutorial to help me figure out how to edit the player.
2: Once I have the dts shape of my tank in the player folder, is the player.cs the only file i need to change so that it will work correctly?
3: and lastly, if I want to have the view from above looking down on the moving tank, is there an easy way to do this because I am having some difficulty understanding the one forum post I saw about camera views.
