Texturing Trouble

Hey guys, I am a little new on the modeling texturing scene. I have been looking for tutorials on the subject but none of them have been helping.

I am using MilkShape 3D to model with. I am using LithUnwrap to make a UV map with.

Here's the dilemma. When I bring the model into LithUnwrap all I get is a big blue screen with a square made of triangles.

Here is a pic of the untextured model: http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a115/Abisbowa/Model.jpg

Am I just doing something wrong? If anyone has any pointers or links to a good tutorial that would be awesome.

What you're seeing is a poorly UVmapped mesh. In Ultimate Unwrap, which I use (the paid successor to Lith), I would Select All and then choose one of the mapping options (say, planar, for example), and then voom you'll see your mesh.

Right now the UV"s are just all the same, and not "mapped" at all.

yeah I know...blows my mind, too, but it gets easier with time. :-)
