Well I don't understand, or even heard of anyone not willing to move for a job in the gaming industry. You probably never heard of Ruston due to its size, it is a relatively small town. As for the pay it depends on your skill sets. Please keep in mind we are a relatively new company, so the pay as of now will not be your final salary amount. We hope to release our first game and use the funds for that to increase our salaries and the amount of staff, so one who would take one of these positions has to be a motivated individual who doesn't mind working hard to get the job done for the end goals we have in mind. Our salary currently ranges between $25,000 and $55,000 not including bonus's or added rewards. The pay is determind based on skill, so keep in mind the high end of our salary range is for those who are talented in all areas of the Art field and could produce anything we would need.

The positions currently open are:
-Art Lead
-Character Modeler
-Texture Artist
-Environment Artist
-Special Effects Artist
-3d Generalist positions

If you're interested please submit your resume and stills to me at Dane@Vizualfxstudios.com.

How about a 'moving' bonus? One CO. i worked for payed me $8,000 to move to Austin Texas. And Once i was offered $15,000 to move to Hong Kong, but that was just too large a move for me.... Point is, people move around for jobs all the time, when they know they are good solid jobs. And when the job at question may only last one year, its not so inviting to move. Moving cost money, belongings often get lost or busted. Sometimes its hard to find a decent apartment, sometimes the cost of living after moving is much higher then ones current cost of living, negating much of the job's appeal. And for me i often consider how comfortable i am at my current location, compared to a possible NEW location of residence.

We do not offer any 'moving bonus' of any sort. The fact that you will be given an opportunity to break into the gaming industry with a full time position should be enough incentive. These positions that are available are for people who are willing to work hard to make a name for themselves. If you are interested please post or send me an email at Dane@vizualfxstudios.com, otherwise please refrain from posting anything and keep the thread for those looking for positions in the gaming industry.

Thanks for your time and understanding.

Oh please, talk about EGO. I have 'busted' into and out of the gaming industry many times in the last 10 plus years. Oh and im sorry, i WAS interested; just wanted to see if you were "for real" by asking a few questions, just because you have a fancy web page do not really mean much.

It just seems to me you are expecting people to move to YOUR area, without much guarantee on a livable wage, or even the promise of enough money to move AWAY from that area after/when/if the position failed. You just might have better luck with contract workers that could work from home, think about it! how much of this 'gaming industry' truly needs in house employees now days?

I apologise if you felt I was talking with a big ego, it was not my intent. First off let me state this is not my company, I am just the Art Director. From experience I know how hard it is to get with a large gaming company such as EA, Ubisoft, Blizzard and so on. If you were fortunate enough to land those positions than that is truely amazing, but for the people who are trying to make it there and are fresh out of college you need some sort of experience. Most major industries do not like hiring anyone who lacks the experience of a title under their belt. So this to me is a great opportunity for those who really want to be in the gaming industry.

This company has strong financial backers as well as very large partners in the industry. We aren't a group of 5 people who want to make a game, we are a company of 25+ and growing. We have our own in house engine, among other technical aspects and offer rewarding experience. While we have no published titles pulling in an income for our business we can't offer the top pay that other major companies can offer, but we do offer a reasonable wage which in this area is more than enough to live off of. Once the release of our first game we intend to raise those salaries, so you just need to look towards the end goal.
