I'm completely new to Torque Script and the art of game programming and i was wanting some guidance as to what is the minimum scripts required to start the TGE with out loading any characters, shapes, textures, or player data? and is there a specific folder hierarchy is that determined by the user as long as the correct paths are used in the scripts?

As a notation, for folks that are very new and havent ever touched a programming or torque before. The game programming guide is a bit out of date, though it does make for good guide, some of the code isnt really compatible, but the models in the tutorials do work as a bonus. Someone needs to update the all in one guide for 1.5.2 and afx and such. It would be a ideal thing to do.

If you are very new, i would perhaps pick up the new Torque for Teens book, or read the getting started turtorial.pdf and in general get familiar with how Torque script works. Learn how to compile will be a holy grail in learning how to use scripts and some of the packs you can buy. which is another way to learn how to use torque. some do not require much more then a few line changes and add the new models. As a notation, for folks that are very new and havent ever touched a programming or torque before.
