Problems With Buttons / Modeling Question

I just got TGE 1.5 and I'm going through the tutorial but when I'm changing the gui and it says to put the command loadMyMission() into a guibuttonctrl I get Problems, First of all I cant get the start button to work at all, then it moves when I open up the gui editor, also I cant get the editors to open with F10 or F11, and I have tried command F10 and F11.
Then I am also just wondering what a good program would be for texturing models from silo 2 and importing into TGE 1.5 if it is as simple as that.
If anyone has an answer to one or more of these questions it would be greatly appreciated.

Silo can export 3DS and OBJ files, so you should be able to use Blender, Cheetah, Maya, or Lightwave to get them textured. Of the ones listed, only Cheetah does not have a DTS exporter.
