2d Environment Artist(s) for RPG (paid $4000+)

Hello everyone. I'm Diegoale2000, and I am Seeking a background artist for a small Indie RPG. dreamseol.blogspot.com

We had a background artist already, but sadly, the development of the painted maps we had has been extremely slow lately, coming up with less than a map per week, so while it hurts me, I do have to take action and find another artist (or more than one) who has the ability to take this project to completion.


ABOUT THE PROJECT:

- Dreams is a 2d RPG that is made to feel like a storybook, with Painted Backgrounds, Chapters (Called "Books"), Anime-styled Cut scenes, etc.

-Characters made by an Art studio fill the world, unique Clothing system makes the NPCs have different clothing, hairstyles, Hair color, etc. so you don't see a town full of people that look like each other. but instead, unique people with their own styles, attitude, etc.

-Voice Actors make the Cut scenes and battles come to life!

-Original Music and Theme song, created and sung for the game.

-Unique, complex battle system that allows customization of your character's battling styles and movements. Any character can wield ANY weapon and try to master it.

-Unique Potion creation allows you to make any kind of Mixture! from Potions, to Poisons, to even bombs!

-Strategic movement system allows you to move in battle, changing the amount of damage you deal / receive

-And MORE.

ABOUT THE JOB

I Am currently seeking 1 (or 2) 2d artist(s) to create and the backgrounds for Dreams: Essences of Life, there are around 150 - 200 Backgrounds, (they compose the maps of the game)

The maps need to have layers, because some things WILL need to be in the foreground, etc... but I can make sure to explain it clearly if any of you are interested.

A Way to also make things easy on my artist is to use a "parallax" system for when traveling. Forests, Plains and all the roads will have "parallax backgrounds" which is the same Panorama for one entire area. instead of making the same forest have a unique background on each of the maps that make it up, you simply create the walking area and the foreground, and then the parallax is used in the game. saving quite some render times and the time it takes to create them.

The Deadline for all of them is around the End of 2008.

STYLE:

-The Game's webpage (found above) shows some examples of the style we currently had.
-Odin Sphere's style is very fitting, but not all that extreme detail it has is needed.

PAYMENT:

The Payment method used is divided into 2 Steps:

1) Up front Payment on a per map basis. you'll be paid $10 per ROAD MAP / INTERIOR (simple and don't require much detail)and $30 per TOWN MAP (which are more complicated than roads). as soon as its finished. you may choose to receive each payment as soon as you deliver the map, or altogether at the end of the month.

2) Post-release Payment, You will also receive the total amount of money spent on the maps while the game was developed AGAIN after the Game is released. This will most likely be monthly payment of a specific amount.


You WILL have a contract that assures payment and the extra Payment(with the condition that your art IS used in the game -aka you don't randomly quit-)
