Milkshape Problem

My milkshape is having a problem with animating. Normally there is all those hash marks down t the bottom and you choose one and set key frame and stuff, but the hash marks aren't there. I have no idea what to do. Please help

In the lower right corner, below the ANIM button is a box (which probably right now has one or two in it). Type a number into it for how many animation frames you want. Put 30, or 60 or whatever in there, and you should then get your "hash marks" back.
