Licensing question...

I work at a small (12 person) robotic company and we are trying to find a software package which will allow us to create simulations - using simple physics to study things like control modes and camera placement. These will be mostly internal with external demos and possibly screen shots in reports.
From my understanding of the licensing, this means that we need a commercial license.
Is that right?
Second, reading the summary of the liceneses, it says this:
"Commercial customers...
...
may work on non-game projects.
...
"
but the license itself says this:
"This license does not permit the use of the Engine for non-Game application such as simulations, virtual worlds, or other products. Use of the Engine for these applications requires a separate license. Contact licensing@garagegames.com for these applications of the Engine."
These seem to be contradictory.
Which license would I need?
Thanks
Tim

Something must have happened in the website, no worries though. You may work on non-game applications with commercial (not indie), but I would wait until they fix it... just in case.

Do you have any update on this licensing issue? We would like to move forward with a purchase of the game engine before the end of the year, but this license issue is blocking that.
Thanks

I just initiated a follow-up on this as well for you Tim, and will check today. Hope to have an answer for you by the end of the day.

I'm curious about this issue also. Is there a general answer that can be reported?

You will need to contact licensing for your specific case. This was changed because the vast majority of serious game developers of simulations needed quite different license requirements and would usually negotiate changes.
