Oklahoma Based?

by Derrick Austin · in General Discussion · 12/07/2007 (10:59 pm) · 10 replies

I know it's kind of in the middle of no where, but are their any Oklahoma based Video Game Development companies (Non-indie... obviously) - or would the closest be Texas or Kansas?

Derrick I haven't heard of any major (Non-Indie) companies and yeah I live in Oklahoma too. Texas has a few though.

LOL, yah, the reason I was asking is because a gaming company from Austin, Texas called my professor at the colllege telling her about intern oppertunities and at the moment I just can't really go to Texas next summer (Wife's pregnant and the baby's due about the end of June) - but it got me started thinking lol. I was figured there was a possibility that their maybe be some in OKC, but your probably right - I wonder if any are in Wichita, KS? (I live in more North Oklahoma - Alva to be precise... lol)

If I was there, I would leave because I don't want to get shot shopping in your malls! :(

But Derrick..... As Wichita falls, so falls Wichita falls.

Alva is a kinda small place (No malls lol...) - I was just naming off some close "bigger" cities.

Well with telecommuting you don't need to be anywhere for some game careers.

But if you want physical go to Austin. It's got a great sector with a good quality of life.

If you want to telecommute then just do Digital Art. People will pay $$$ if it's good.

Who knows, I can only name the Austins back (Without digging futher) to about 1920s. (My great grandpa Oran Austin), so to tell you the truth - I'm not sure if it came from Stephen F Austin or not... although that would be kind of cool.
