Umm...downlaed it 4 times...clicked the proper links..
all I got was a small demo program that let me look at the TGEA...no program to run other than that.
impresive demo...but where the heck is the trial that the link said I was getting..
30 days of a 1 minute demo...I really must be missing something.

After starting the demo, click on "Interactive Demo". Once that loads you are able to access the built-in editors. You can press F10 to get the GUI editor or F11 to get the mission editor where you can actually mess around with things and even create your own mission to play with.
You can also look at and modify the scripts used for the demo in the folder where the demo is installed. You could actually do a lot with what they give you if you had the knowledge, but they make that hard to find.
I think the Torque Developer Network documentation is actually available now to those who haven't purchased the engine at tdn.garagegames.com.

Yes, it is actually very confusing. Almost as if GG doesn't want you to actually be able to evaluate anything before purchase. Very strange. After starting the demo, click on "Interactive Demo". I ama bit flabbergasted at the whole thing.
So...the site says check out free trial...and also says get DEMO...so I download and view demo..neat.
Then there are some obscure commands that allow me to access a game building engine...
Wonder what will happen if I hit other keys....lol
Why in the world would they do that?
Trial/demo/hiddne commands....easter eggs from hell.

While I am not going to defend GG as far as docs, I think there is some value as far as the actual engine (i.e. source code). If you have the ability to take advantage of the engine source code then you could actually get ahead.

Played around with the demo a bit..
1- I certainly hope the paid for version has a bigger screen to work with....holy moly.
2- playing around was interesting..until you fall through the ground..that it..time to restart...
3- very interesting....indeed.
guess i will wait for the books to start working on it in more detail
Seems like a nice product...excpet for the screen size...god get me binoculars or I may have to go to 800x600 just to do things..lol
awesome program it seems like.

I think I'm not impressed with TGEA. It does look a whole lot better. Am I wrong or are many of the bugs that were in TGE simply carried over into TGEA? Is there any additional documentation? Is Torque 2 planned to be a completely new engine or will it, too, build upon TGE? I for one, would rather pay more money for Torque 2 and get real documentation and customer support, rather than the attitude that everything is the community's responsibility to fix, simply because the engine is cheap and the source code is released.
