New Editor

Howdy folks,

I have been working on a lil side project for the community (if people are interested) where I update the GUI of the editor. I have tried to incorporate some features that will help people out during development, including a navigation window and an improved object library.

I have not yet completed the project, I just wanted to throw up a few initial images to get some feedback before I proceed too much further. Any constructive criticism is appreciated, because, I just want to give something to everyone that works really well and hopefully helps out in development.

The navigator has a fully working camera box, where you can drag it around to move the scene camera. The extent of the navigator window are based on the size of the all of the objects in the scene. When a new object is added outside the boundaries, the navigator extents are updated and the aspect ratio is kept contant.

Enjoy!

(The reason the scene doesn't look centered in the navigator is because there are some hidden scene objects to the right of the main canvas)

I like the way it looks. I'd be happy to beta test it when you get it to that stage.

Wow Phillip! Your help/work continues to amaze me. This looks great! I like tabs much more than the rollouts.

Makes me want the Pro version so I can make changes to the editor.

Thanks for the support guys. I've still got a lot of work to do, so, if there is anything anyone wants to be added, I will do my best to get it in there.

I plan to add a lot more shortcuts and better tooltip explanations as well. Its the little things that count ;)

This is interesting. It doesn't seem like GG will be adding much else to TGB, editor wise at least, so if users can build upon what's there and make it a better experience for everyone then why not? I did a good amount of hacking to the editor myself :) I'm curious to see what you did and what you plan to add.

It looks totally awesome. Is there's some sort of imagemap managing ? (not loading what's not on screen)
