War simulator

Here is my idea for a game;

It will be a war simulator! what I mean by that is it will have fully capable land air and sea units all the way from foot soilder, Tanks, full size aircaft carriers and C-130 Transports. there will be no classes you would just go and select your equimpent that you think you would need during the game and you would have a slot limit (like the one in X-COM) and also a weight factor (the more you put on the less endurance you have). With the vehicles some time down the road I would like to make an armour system that works properly like when you get hit on the left side the armour on the left side is damaged and you can continue; Instead of a life bar for the tank. For the air features I am seeing if I can have vehicles go inside vehicles and just have them para-drop to the ground. There would be more features but for right now I would just start on weapons and one of each class like a tank a ship and aircraft.

Do you mean something "similar to" EA's Battlefield 1942?
