Widescreen 16:9 rendering

Hi
I am very new to this and I have a subscription to XNA and TXB (with the platformer starter kit).
If Torque X is designed to work with XNA (and most likely end up on a 360), I'm hoping that it is a simple endeavour to get the graphics to render in a 16:9 resolution, but I can't work it out.
Can anyone help?
I changed the resolution in the torqueSettings.xml file to 1280 x 768, but when the game is rendered the graphics are simply stretched.
