You do not have the correct version of the FPS starter

by Browser_ice · in Torque Game Engine · 10/16/2007 (8:58 am) · 3 replies

All I did was create a new mission via the game engine which created a new terrain. Next thing I know, when I start Torque and choose that mission it gives me this error :

You do not have the correct version of the FPS starter kit or the related art needed to play on this server, please contact the server operator for more informations. (invalid packet.)"

Can someone explain why and how to get rid of this so I can get back to designing my mission ?

Did you add a non-power of two texture to use as your terrain texture? Have you added and DIF structures (usually that's where I get it because the textures aren't in the right place for the engine to find them). Did you delete anything, especially old terrain files from the hard drive? there are some issues with hard coded paths in TGE, which have been fixed by the community, but not rolled into the current version AFAIK.

I didn't delete anything. All I did was create a new terrain from the editor's File menu and did a save as. That's all.

WHen it created the new terrain it already had somekind of texture on it.

I had closed the program after since I was lated and needed to go to sleep. So when I started it up just now, that's what I got.

Nevermind, I opened up the default *.mis file and the one that was created when I had the problem. Compared the 2 and sort of recreated the new one. I am now able to go back into my mission.
