How can I display numbers on screen?

Ok, heres what I want: numbers should apear in some display, like a tv. This tv would be a .dts I think. Let me explain more likely: it's an educational phisics software using some math - so, the player should be able to use some items to get some goals. To aproach this goals, the player must see the numbers he's getting, if they're correct or not. I can imagine a few alternatives for this tv - like a ballon in gui for some while following the phisics experimet (.dts) on screen - or even a popup to bring a picture of the experiment with the results. But in fact - I prefer showing numbers thru a display in the enviroment. Any idea? what would be easier?
