I'm sorry if this has been answered before (I'm sure it probably has) but I have been unable to find the appropriate information.
What is the best way to make a little movie of game play?
I just want to show off my work with a little 10 second clip or something.

To convert the video and perform basic editing you could use Windows Movie Maker or VirtualDub if you're after free options.
If you're after that professional touch then I would recommend Adobe Premiere.

I second Fraps as a good device to capture movies from in-game. Another alternative is GameCam although I prefer Fraps. Both have free versions available (with restrictions of course) and are quite cheap to purchase if you need the full versions. To convert the video and perform basic editing you could use Windows Movie Maker or VirtualDub if you're after free options.
