Is there a stock TGB Project?

I have been working my way through the tutorials listed in the HTML Documentation Overview. I decided to look more specifically at some of the items under the 'Feature' section. Some of these (Workspace Tutorial and Mounting, for example) make reference to opening a "stock TGB project file that comes with the engine". I have tried looking for this project but am unable to find it.
I have looked for it in both the 'MyGames' directory and the GarageGames directory under Program Files.
I ended up creating a new Project and I loaded the 'startArt' for the project which seems to be the art resource used by the project. I am curious to know if the TGB project still exists. Thanks.

The tutorial certainly still makes sense and is workable without using the particle effect, but it would just be COOL to have a rain effect I can use in other projects. It actually seems like a very useful effect.
Is there anyway to download this demo from the website? I've tried searching around for references but came up empty.

Another issue with not having the TGB demo is we can't do some of the particle related sections of the documentation. For example, the 'Samples and Tutorials' heading includes a Mounting Tutorial. There is a reference to using rain.eff (a rain effect), but we do not have this effect available and I do not know how to recreate the effect using the available images. The tutorial certainly still makes sense and is workable without using the particle effect, but it would just be COOL to have a rain effect I can use in other projects. I have the same problem as Steve, I can create a new project and add the starter art but all the Particle effects are missing. I'm now using TGB 1.6
anyway I found another project in "TorqueGameBuilder/games/TutorialBase/project.t2dProj" this project has all the Particle effects that the tutorial takes about, but not the images that make the particle effects work.
So as Steve has asked is there anyway for me to download these effects complete with images to make them work correctly.
Cheers

To see the particles in a new project you will have to add the particlesArt resource to your project. It should be in your GarageGames TGB install directory.

That's got 90% of them working but still missing the imagemaps to make rainsplash, rain and matrix work.
Boy these partice effect are cool.. can't wait to use them in a game..

TGB project is still missing in the latest version of TGB. How do I utilize this as I work through the tutorials?

To start out open up TGB and load the "TGB" project. TGB project is still missing in the latest version of TGB. How do I utilize this as I work through the tutorials?

Create a new project and load the starterArt resource (Ctrl + R)

I got all of my particles working but I forgot how I did it, I will see if I can retrace my steps.

I'm having this same issue. The starterArt resource was already added to the "TGB" project. I added the particleArt, but I'm still missing the rain and a few other effects. It doesn't really matter since I just used a different particle for following the tutorial, but it'd be nice to know how to get it added in.

What I've found is if I start a new project, go to "Project : Resources" and then add "particlesArt" to my resources, it doesn't add any of the 59 particle effects to the "Particle Effects" section of the "Create" tab. It does add 6 of the 28 available static sprites though. But that's it. Considering everything that is in the "particlesArt" folder, this strikes me as wrong, or at least very strange. I have checked the "particlesArt" folder that is added to my project's "resources" folder and they all appear to be in there. They just don't appear in the "Create" tab.

No idea if this helps, or is even valid to the point, but after a few days of messing with the demo and trying the beginner tutorials I stumbled across a possible workaround to add particle effects that aren't loading in your own project. Add the generic particle effect from the "Create" tab to your level, then go to edit and click on "load effect" under the "Particle Effect" drop down, then navigate to where you have particle effects stored. You can then load any of the effects manually. This doesn't add them to the "Create : Particle Effects" section, however. What I've found is if I start a new project, go to "Project : Resources" and then add "particlesArt" to my resources, it doesn't add any of the 59 particle effects to the "Particle Effects" section of the "Create" tab. Any chance the tutorials will be corrected? Maybe at least correct the online Official Docs? I'm starting to believe every new user (like myself) is looking for these files/folders as we follow the tutorials and end up spending the next 30-45 mins researching just to find it's not really there. And this is only the first paragraph of the Introduction. :/
Anyway, thanks for the fixes all. Back to work,. :)

I still haven't figured out where the images for those effects mentioned in the tutorials might be.
There are many similar problems too: no "Scroller" rollout, no platformer demo as mentioned in one of the other tutorials, etc.
I really want to like TGB — in some ways, I do like it — but it's ridiculous that every newbie needs to navigate around these big glaring stumbling blocks, especially ones that were reported over a month ago.
(And yes, I've offered to help, but haven't gotten a reply to that offer yet.)

I agree with Jon. Here you guys had this all figured out a month ago, and I started with TGB this week and stumbled over the exact same thing. I ended up writing to the Support address, and got a reply that was clearly trying to be helpful, but wasn't.I still haven't figured out where the images for those effects mentioned in the tutorials might be.

I'm thinking about buying TGB but this might be an issue that turns me away from it... I can stand when a company can't get simple stuff fixed.

when i started with TGB, i had to read the reference docs again and again to get some simple stuff going, today, theres more stuff to read, but the learning curve is not as steep as it used to be.

they are gonna get fixed, is just that we wont see those changes until T3D gets released... anyway, its not that difficult when you know what to do and where to look.when i started with TGB, i had to read the reference docs again and again to get some simple stuff going, today, theres more stuff to read, but the learning curve is not as steep as it used to be.

It was only mentioned that we won't hear anything about T2D before T3D is out but T2D is the "new thing", not the next update that has to adress the problems that still exist like the memory and asset handling problems.

Well I actually hope that TGB 1.8 will happen before the T3D release, as I don't expect the final T3D release to happen before august / septIt was only mentioned that we won't hear anything about T2D before T3D is out but T2D is the "new thing", not the next update that has to adress the problems that still exist like the memory and asset handling problems.
