Team needed for ANIMAL

A little about the game first. Animal is a 3rd person single player game where you play the serial killer/slasher psychopath. Hide in the shadows, stalk your victims and slash your way back to your home town. Much in the style of Hitman and Manhunt you will be able to set up traps, wall hug and use a list of make shift weapons in the environment to vanquish the innocent for your personal revenge. (much like Michael Mayers or Jason). The game's mood is very much like the classic late 70's/80s movies like Last house on the left, Halloween, Friday the 13th to even The Warriors and Southarn Comfort
The game idealy will be using TGEA (it was TSE when I first used it so I dont know if thats right) and have experience with TGEA and it's shader networks although its been a good while now and I'll need to get back into it. I did do some early tests in TSE with Animal.
blacktreeuk.net/misc/front_end.jpg - front end menu.
blacktreeuk.net/misc/player.JPG - placeholder player in showtools.
blacktreeuk.net/misc/envionment1.jpg - my environment tests in engine.
blacktreeuk.net/misc/environment2.jpg
blacktreeuk.net/misc/place_holder.jpg - placeholder player in engine working withcustom anims
blacktreeuk.net/misc/player_head.jpg very old normal mapped player head.
Sadly all this work has been lost over time but not a problem to get back upto scratch and theres also a design doc.
Milestone wise - To be honest I'd be happy with just a rough demo at this stage and see what happens after this.
1) A player character running about with full custom anims
2) A test environment preferably the first training level (mental hospital)
3) A victim with basic AI and full animation range
4) Atleast 1 changable weapon, mask and outfit with onscreen indicators that you can do this.
Of course if the game or the episodes if we choose to go episodic reach a releasable level then any kind of income from the game will be divided and shared.
There is no real deadline and its all for fun and enjoying the development process but I am after another art person that knows his way around the torque better than I do, which isnt too hard and some programmers that can easily handle characters and other game features.
My portfolio site (if not abit out of date) is: www.blacktreeuk.net
Reply to this thread if your interested
P.S - A technical note, the reason why the player has no head in the showtools is you can wear different masks and hoods so the entire model is switched out and replaced as you pick up new things just using a mount point like a weapon.
Cheers.
Marcus

Four reasons why you are still looking for "proper" help1) a game where u kill random "victims" with no redeeming qualities ......get real dude

My top thread there with early screenshots shows I'm making efforts and not just a silly MMO dream.
It isnt just about killing random "victims" as you so well put it, I have a large design doc which has nothing but well thought out gameplay and game mechanics which of course I'm not going to post here!
I have every idea of what I want in the game which is all stated in the design doc which is essentially acting as a design bible also.
Why should I set my stardards to "Pro's only"? At the moment this is a none profit idea so if a person wants to DONATE their free time to help me develope an idea than I can't ask for much more than that can I? and its all about learning and become better in what you do.
And as for your last comment about spending hours to make something "for fun".....Why do we do this if its not for fun?? I work in the industry as an artist/animator, I've been making games for Nintendo Wii, PS2 and PSP for 4 years now and know its a struggle and it's hard graffed! If people want to make lots of money then the games industry is the wrong business for you! I know I'm not rich looking at my pay packet! So Yes! it is for fun, if we end up with a nice demo then so be it, its something nice for a person's portfolio, if we end up with something sellable then even better! but I;m not going to delude myself in thinking this game will be released and sell lots of units because most games dont get that far as you probably know.

All my comments were intended to do is point out why your still looking for "proper help"
i still dont know why anyone would work on your project for "fun" im sure every member here has a list
of 4 projects they would do "for fun" ie their own projects if they had time
In other words
Design a proper game, set up a site as if you actually wanted to produce something
and you will have to carry a big stick to beat away the people who want to help......
and my comment about standards refered to "dont accept anybody" at least ascertain if they are
even "slightly" committed to your project
as for the "fun"
dude im a full time coder, have been for 20 years , wouldnt do it if it wasnt "fun"

I used to use torque in the past, I decided to leave and move my previous game idea to a different engine as I couldn't find help back then as well and only recently decided to give it another try, I worked hard and got alot done on my own, whenever I showed any of my progress I would get alot of kind comments but it didnt seem to matter how much I did people just did seem interested in helping.
I've made websites for game ideas in the past but in the end I found it didnt really help and I just ended up out of pocket so I dont think I'll be setting one up now. Of course when I do find help in the art side of it I like to see peoples work to get a judge on their skills and how advanced they are but again.. I can't pay anyone to help me so I guess it can only be for fun and the game is designed, just in a word doc
Most times when you start talking to a new person that wants to help you can tell how dedicated they will be towards your goals so again I dont think thats much of a problem but as for my original 'Help wanted' posts I dont think there is anything wrong with them. I'm down to earth, being truthfull about the project and I'm showing work that I have done on it so its not like a person is investing in an idea alone.
To be honest its more code-side than art where I need help, getting a player character running about, that kind of thing. I could most probably ask about for someone to donate some time to do this when I have models an animations ready to go but nevermind.
And sorry about being rather defensive there Mark haha, your post just seemed alittle aggresive and I know your trying to help but I can't be much more honest than that.
Cheers

Send me an NDA to my personal mail dude and ill help u to get this started EVEN THO I REALLY REALLY dont care for your choice of game, ill help u to project manage this

I can send you the design doc as I'm quite open to sending it to people that want read it and hearing their ideas, dont worry about the NDA I doubt anyone will plagorize and right now the project doesnt have any kind of SVN repo although at the moment I'm working on environment models as its quicker and easier for me to get an environment in Torque than a player character.
I mean I'm a whole fan of the 70's/80's dusty video casette kind of era, John Carpenter, John Romero, Walter Hill...classic Wes Craven. This is what the ideas mood is really set around
Cheers Mark

Well if you dont really care for the conceptual idea that strongly then I can't ask you to spend your time and effort on it as it just would be right :(I can send you the design doc as I'm quite open to sending it to people that want read it and hearing their ideas, dont worry about the NDA I doubt anyone will plagorize and right now the project doesnt have any kind of SVN repo although at the moment I'm working on environment models as its quicker and easier for me to get an environment in Torque than a player character.

Was just being honest about your concept ;)
AS i said earlier been in the industry for many years, worked on lots of projects
Seeing as uve tried once before and couldnt get this off the ground all i wanted to do was help u set up a project, get the people u need to get u started and point u in the right direction,
but sure send doc and ill give it a read
ps and oh btw
dont forget "dont just accept anyone into your project"
if u dont want to send it, its fine
besides enough noise has been raised on this chat that u might get noticed by more people
who really do like ure concept

I think one of the reasons why I seem so despirate now in my post is I was very serious about the project when I originally started it but I could only go so far on my own...I dont know..theres just too many MMO ideas floating around haha.
I sent it to you email address inside your profile
