Does anyone here have any experience with Virtual Reality headsets. We have a potential application for virtual reality at work. Expense is really not an issue as it would be used on a product worth around

I haven't seen this mentioned on any forum post, so I thot I would offer up a pointer to the eMagin Z800 3dvisor HMD which is currently selling for $799 (which is $100 off til Dec 31) at their site and also thru AMAZON.

Quick specs are 800x600 pixels per eye via 2 0.59inch OLED microdisplays and patented optics yielding a 40 degree diag. FOV (equivalent to 105" screen at 12 feet). The unit also includes a 3DOF head tracker which means you have 360 degrees of motion freedom. Stereo earbuds and noise-cancelling mike built in also. Incredible value even at this price...

I've ordered a pair and will probably be mucking with Torque to get something stereoscopic happening. I have tried the NVidia 77.77 drivers in anaglyph mode and no changes are required to Torque at all to see immersive 3d so I'm expecting to do little work on this.

I've no affliliation w/ anyone, just offering info...

I'm interested to know as I have not attempted anything like this before - what sort of work (if any) is usually involved in adding HMD capabilities to Torque ? Any links to useful docs ?

I'd also be really interested in obtaining raw head orientation info from HMD's, does anybody have any info on this?

I am heading off to work right now but when I get back home I will post some info on this.
I have 3 VR PODs that I am converting over to Torque. I am having problems with the head tracking so its slow going but I am almost there.

I have been working on this in my spare time now for over a year.
