Will there ever be an exporter for Gmax... that would be great.

I think the exporter sdk costs alot to buy.... >_<

Actually stuart its the liscense to distribute the gMax pack that you create which is the expensive part, the SDK is peanuts and actually comes in Max R5 (and can also be bought as a part of the Discreet Sparks Premium package). It has dropped in price signifigantly since its initial release, but it is still a bit too expensive for GG or most indie game groups to consider at this time.

So don't be expecting any gMax support for Torque anytime soon.

You can write exporters for GMax using the scripting language.

I'm surprised no one has done a .dts exporter yet.

It's all because of the licensing that there is no exporter. If you do a forum search, you should find several topics on this.

Unless GG were able to swing a deal with Discreet, GMax is pretty well out of most indies' price range. And since a GG deal is highly unlikely as well (hey--they're not a huge corp. with tons of money to blow), I'd say making the milkShape exporter better or one for any number of good low priced and free modelling packages would be time much better spent. IMHO
